  Voltage regulator gets hot when steering servo

Hi, I'm working on a project in which I use the handy-board to steer a servo. I noticed that the voltage regulator on my handy-board gets rather hot. You actually burn your fingers on it... So I wondered how much current I can draw from it, without (...) (28 years ago, 21-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Polaroid & Handyboard

Okay...I hooked up a Polaroid Rannging board to the Handyboard. And something about the supply prevents the echo from being properly detected. If I provide power from a more substantial supply, the echo is detected correctly (I was watching this on (...) (28 years ago, 21-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  bus loading

Hi Scott, (...) Since everything's CMOS, there's no trouble with static loading (CMOS inputs require essentially zero current in static operation). You will, however, be increasing the capacitance on the bus, which slows down the transitions a (...) (28 years ago, 21-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Interface/charge board problem>>part II :)

Hello again, After several fustrating hours of checking all solder connections, cables, and all that other stuff. I finaly think that my problem is in the MAX232 chip on the charger board. If I remove the chip from it's socket, the handy board will (...) (28 years ago, 21-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  HandyBoard Expansion.....

Hi I'm roughing out a design to add some more(*) IO to my handyboard and have run into a slight problem.... I'm going to have another 4 devices on the data bus, 2 x 74HC574 & 2 x 74HC541. Will this exceed the "fan out" of the cpu ? (I don't have the (...) (28 years ago, 21-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Oops! That should be: f=(float)i; That's what happens when you stay up too late. :-) - Prabal (...) (28 years ago, 20-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Integer -> float

(...) Are you sure about this? In your example, i is the float and f the integer. Silvain (28 years ago, 20-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
