  Re: Cybermaster

(...) AFAIK with Cybermaster you can only use passive sensors and the programs can only be very small. I'd go for RIS. (I first got RIS and bought Cybermaster as an add-on for ca $90.)   Cybermaster

I've been offered a cybermaster set quite cheap (~$100). Is it worth it, or should I save my efforts for RIS? Also, what actually comes in the cybermaster set? Scott A (26 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Cybermaster on sale in Switzerland

I just saw Cybermaster on sale in Migros stores in Switzerland for 149 CHF (about 90$ and half the normal price). I have already a RIS. Beside the cybermaster unit itself, is the buy worthwhile for other parts ? Lorenzo Zago (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Increasing the range of the radio signal

(...) I would suspect that antenna placement, and possibly considering a different antenna design, would make a huge difference. Look in some radio books for things like Yagi designs. Give you much more range, but also make the antenna very (...) (26 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Increasing the range of the radio signal

I would second the recommendation for trying different locations for the tower. At one point I had so many problems with "dead spots" with my exploring rover (that needs to communicate with the map making/route finding software running on the PC), (...)
