Re: CNN: Competition among LEGO mechanical monsters

(...) I was there! Well, not really at the FLL event, but at the FRC event. I'm part of Team 1675, the Ultimate Protection Squad, or UPS for short. As a rookie team, we were very busy, so I didn't ever see the competitions, but our pit was right (...) (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Announcing MINDSTORMS Robotic Sumo contest hosted by Competitive MINDSTORMS and TexLUG!

(...) I'm constructing a new one for the event, but I'm thinking I'll probably bring along another one from my book as well. I'll probably use "Zip-Bam-Bot Version XK2." (...) Thanks for letting me know - the date has been corrected. - David J. (...) (20 years ago, 2-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

GBC 6 - the obsession continues...

Well, a week ago I finally made it down to a GBC assembly in central Indiana. For those who think the GBC videos are wonderful, I can now state from experience they are nothing compared to actually being there! Steve has already posted some (...)   true realtime event?

Hi I am trying to find out whether the event in Robolab is a truly realtime interrupt. Once the event is triggered, does it truly preempt the current running process? Input or suggestion to reading material will be appreciated. ---...--- -------- (...) (19 years ago, 19-May-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  GBC Current guidelines?

Can someone point me to the current guidelines or standards for introducing GDC into school classes? Ive noticed lots of discussion but not sure where to look for the current frameworks and practice. (...) There's been a slight revision of the rule set for this upcoming event; a few details and the updated rule set can be found at my web site at the following address: (URL) - David J. Perdue (19 years ago, 12-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AFOL Mindstorms touranment in Billund

(...) For those who want to know, let me try to explain the event. Here's a nice picture of everyone, and the tables: (URL) met Saturday at 3:00 pm, and the challenge was explained. It was generally in the First Lego League format, where there are (...) (19 years ago, 15-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.events, FTX)

(...) We had a wonderful time too, and look forward to participate again. We won the tournament, and that was great for us, no doubt (though I have no problems in publicly admitting we had luck during the final match against TeamHassenplug). However (...) I can't answer your actual question, but have a close look at the way your tagline comes across. It looks (unintentionally, I'm sure) like you are closely affiliated with the LEGO company. Another use would be a multi-goal system. For instance, one task could be (...) (19 years ago, 19-May-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Group project: RCX units run emergence simulation

(...) I've never thought of doing it at a mass event (OK, possibly because I've not been to any), but I've thought of doing it on my own. I suspect the biggest drawback is having your RCX's already built into a MOC to bring to BrickFest. (...) If (...) (19 years ago, 24-May-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Group project: RCX units run emergence simulation

I've wondered about this for over a year now, but haven't brought it up because of not making it to the BF events. Now I can't stand it anymore and must ask. Have RCX owners considered pooling their units to run an event-long simulation? Each of us (...) (19 years ago, 21-May-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.robotics.rcx)
