Hi.
The "new" Lego Sensors are rather obviously not intended for building
mobile Robots. Rather, they are part of the ROBOLAB INVESTIGATOR system
which was just released in the Pitsco 2000 catalogue. The idea is to
build a miniature computerized laboratory. The "new" sensors are actually
DCP laboratory sensors. The key part of the system is the LEGO-DCP
adapter
Basically, I think that there is a lot of room left for building
brick based sound, infrared, proximity, &c. sensors.

| RE: DCP Lab sensors. Is this another standard or based on pin-outs from Vernier/Pasco? It sounds like the "DCP" term is common. Can anyone help in terms of the mode of operation of the adapter or the pin-outs? Thanks Tony Pugatschew (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| *snip* The "new" sensors are actually (...) The key part MAY BE the Lego to DCP connection, but I don't think that the connection itself is anything more than a Lego wire connector soldered to a DIN plug. I think the real masterpiece to make these (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)
