On the other hand, it may be more appropriate to build a smaller stand-alone app that serves as a bridge between Apple Events and RCX communication. A simple RCX interface that just keeps the IR tower alive and really only needs the functionality of the IR remote control, perhaps with motor power variability would be perfect.
