In the future, I'm going to put the 3rd. touch sensor in a bumper in the back
of
the unit since it might impact on some object when reversing and I would • never

I haven't done that already because I'm a bit out of ideas how to make • flexible
a bumper for the whole rear (the CyberMaster is my only LEGO). Any ideas?

In the book "Mobile Robots" by A.M.Flynn it suggests three bump sensors
which are activated by circular plastic skirt made out of acrylic
plastic. It even tells you how to bend the plastic.

The sensors are spaced at say 10, 2 and 6 o'clock
It also discusses the advantages of a circular cross section for
maneuverability as opposed to square or rectangular.

Does anyone know what happens if sensors are connected in parallel to
the Cybermaster?

What do you mean parallel?
I once connected 2 touch sensors to the same port and they worked like a logic
OR if is that you are asking.

Yes, the example of a bump sensor that I was looking at in the book had
a sensor on either end of the bumper ( overlapping 2x8 lego plates) so
that either would signal. Since the Cybermaster can identify individual
touch sensors ( different value resistors) I thought it might confuse it
if they were plugged into the same input.

On thinking about it, it could be an advantage as if more than one
sensor is bumped, then depending on the raw value you could calculate
the direction using only one input.

I might give it a try and see what values are received.

P.S. I got two messages from you, one to CyberUser and one from Lego-
Robotics. I am replying to this one only but sending it to Lego-
Robotics.
