Lego's internet shop is a good place for Mindstorms bits (sensors etc):
www.legoworldshop.com
and is currently the cheapest price I know of for sensors (although
postage is relatively expensive if you're only buying one or two)
The only Dacta supplier whose name crops up here and on lugnet.loc.uk is
Commotion (although there are, no doubt, other ones). But I don't have
their phone number on me just now - I'll post it later tonight/tomorrow if
nobody else beats me to it!
The spares service from Lego UK has general technic stuff, but no
Mindstorms-specific bits (yet?!), so I'd guess they'd not be much help to
you. (Again, don't have the number to hand)
One last thing - if you want more motors, look in the shops (Early
Learning Centre, Beatties _were_ good) for ZNAP sets - #3552 has been seen
for as little as 6 UKP (maybe? I've certainly bought one for 8.50 UKP),
and contains a motor, lead and battery box.

| Hi there, I have a decent size Lego technic collection from when I was a child, but now that I have gotten interested in building again I am looking for a place to buy Mindstorms/Dacta parts in the UK. Are there any retailers in the London area (...) (25 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
