My son (15, lots of PC experience) would like to program a robot.
Would it be possible to communicate from the PC
with a Lego Mindstorms robot during operation
or is it only possible to execute a program autonomously
that has been uploaded to the robot ?

| (...) Both. It will execute downloaded programs and "immediate" commands. These usually use the Spirit.ocx integrated in some language. Of course that due to the infra-red link you might not have total freedom to use the bot anywhere. As a side (...) (25 years ago, 8-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
