Only if the RCX was "on" at the time. If the RCX is "off" then power usage
is reduced to a trickle, supplying power only to maintain the data in RAM,
and in this state the RCX can survive for upwards of a minute or more, even
with no batteries and no AC adapter.
This relates also to the problem of batteries draining over time even when
the RCX is "off." Since power is used to maintain the data in RAM, your
batteries will eventually go dead if you leave them in the RCX. Kind of
like the PalmPilot.
