I was wondering about the speaker as well. The old RCX definitely can beep,
and make a whole host of other sounds. Not being an electronics engineer,
I'm was uncertain of my ability to identify the speaker on the 1.0 board.
It's not the thing that's marked Q2/100/16V is it?
While I'm at it, another question for the group. If one wanted to add an
adapter plug to the 1.5 RCX, would it be safe to wire it directly to either
end of the existing battery terminals (with a cut-off switch to disconnect
the batteries from the circuit), as long as one were careful about the
milliamps rating on the AC adapter?
