I've only subscribed to this robotics newsletter for a few days--and yours is the first "low-end" question I've seen. (...) I'd also be interested in any info anyone can dig up on the suction-bot. I have the walking mechanism down, it's the suction action that's causing me problems. Pneumatics could work, but I've having problems with implementation. peace ---T (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) There are multiple pneumatic valves that are timed to release the pressure when pressing 'down' the suction cup, then closing the valves to maintain the pressure. Open the valve again, and you can 'lift' the suction cup with little effort. (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)
