I hate replying to my own post, but just realized that the range of RAW
values Jacob posted are about normal for a Sensor Type set to 3 (light) and
a Mode set to 0 (raw). There is probably nothing wrong with your sensor.
430 to 820 is still a lot better resolution than 25 to 100.
