It's strange that you say alkaline batteries don't "seem to last very long at
all". I've been using mine for over a month. You should probably qualify your
statement by saying how many minutes or hours you've run the motors on those
batteries.
Instead of special rechargable batteries I would recommend using any kind of
normal alkaline batteries, and using an alkaline recharger (the kind that will
charge any type of alkaline batteries). They're about US$ 50. I'm not sure if I
can mention businesses here, but entering "alkaline battery charger" into a
search engine will get you started. If you're having trouble finding one, email
me.
It's better to recharge alkaline batteries when they're only "half empty",
you'll get more than twice as many charges out of them that way.
