Also, pairing up a light sensor and a touch sensor only works if the lights
are not very bright. Pointing the light sensor at a bright light (e.g. the
sun) generates touch events.

That's not exactly accurate. It doesn't work *if* you configure the touch
switch to recognize positive rail saturation.
If you go the other way and bias the photdector so it *never* goes to ground
(not too hard considering it's a resistor and it isn't much fun trying to
watch a robot in the dark) and then configure the touch sensor to go to ground
you can have a dual use input.

| (...) Actually, I retract what I said about the light sensor and the touch sensor, but not on the grounds you stated, or at least on clearer grounds than you seemed to explain. (That you can configure the touch sensor or bias the photodetector seems (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)
