Yes indeed - 8299. That is mainly a pneumatic based system - with hand
pumped air reservoir. It comes though with an excellent CD ROM which,
amongst other things, has dynamic build instructions.
It is possible to make a motor pump using a pump linked on to a rotating
'wheel' with a connector in on of the rotating holes - but the parts for
this are not in the kit. In this case one would need a pressure sensor
to switch the motor on and off. We (well my son Ben!) does this with a
piston tensioned with rubber band, and linked to a sensor. The sensor
we use is linked direct back to a Sinclair QL - but of course could be a
direct motor switch.

Dunno.

| (...) Not as much fun perhaps, but a direct switch is fairly common. lu(1) posted a design a while back which I put up on my web pages... I used Mike's pump and lu's switch. 1 - I wish I knew lu's real name but I lost it. shame on me, because I (...) (26 years ago, 9-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)
