Not as much fun perhaps, but a direct switch is fairly common. lu(1)
posted a design a while back which I put up on my web pages... I used
Mike's pump and lu's switch.
1 - I wish I knew lu's real name but I lost it. shame on me, because I
don't correctly credit him on my web pages.
