I am unsure about the Mindstorms connection,, although there could be a
case for one, but I would DEFINATELY reccomend this book. It made my
booklist, for what it's worth :)
Seriously, it's a great book, and is very thin / cheap in paperback. Pick
it up, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
