asm allows you to put literal RCX bytecodes in your program.  Most of the
'functions' in NQC are actually just macros that expand to asm statements
in rcx.nqh.

There are two things that I would like to do.  One is to have direct access
to the speaker, and the other is to be able to read from the datalog from
within the program.  Of course both of these may be impossible with the
current firmware.

To my knowledge, you can't to either of these from rcx bytecodes.  Sound
is limited to a bunch of preset sounds and a single note of user specified
frequency/duration.

From a program's perspective, the datalog is write-only.
