I have a bunch of steel ball-bearings in my Lego storage system - so
they must be used in one set or another - I have no idea which
ones though.

There are also Lego magnets - notably in the couplings of all Lego
trains.

Whether magnetizing a Lego ball using a Lego magnet constitutes
"parts modification" is anyone's guess!
