Hi Kevin,
You made my day! Other than a short thread on puppeteers, sci-fi and
the universe, I thought no one was interested by my posts. I have to
thank you too, you got me started on a 4-legged walker. I haven't
synchronized the front and back legs or motorized it yet. It is going
to have balance problems, as well as power problems supporting its own
weight, but it has been an interesting project. Turning is a bigger
problem, I believe I have to joint the body in the middle...
Did you get yours to turn?
Good luck from the one-legged gorilla.
Glad I could help!

Subject: Tripod Help
Well, I finally got the bot built but I need help on getting the robot
to shift/distribute its weight or something like that (I've read about
this in some walkers). Because the robot has the right leg motions and
everything but it either moves an inch or doesn't move at all. I've
tried placing tires on the feet (as grips). This is my first attempt at
a real walker/tripod and would really like some suggestions/ideas.
--Some Extra Info--
I'll have some pics pretty soon posted in my LEGO Robotics page:
http://home1.gte.net/ksaddi/mindstorms/ ...The design of the legs looks
weird (Two "front" legs are positioned in a right angle with eachther
while the third one forms the back leg). Sort of like a "Y". This idea
was inspired by some poster talking about how a one-legged gorilla would
walk... Couldn't find the post anymore...I want yer name, man!!

| Ah, so _you_ are the one-legged gorilla man!! =) (...) This too is a problem for me. To be honest, I don't know how a tripod _would_ walk but can someone tell me if there is a movie (avi, mov, etc.) or something that demonstrates how a tripod (...) (26 years ago, 10-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
