(...) That was exactly it - the rear spring terminal, although it appeared fine, was evidently just barely bent too high by the impact. I removed the circuitboard, pushed both battery clips down slightly, and rebuilt the unit. It works! The power (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Oops! You're right Philo ;) Sorry. Going in and soldering them was one of my fixes for intermittent battery problems now I come to remember. Which then just leads you to the next problem which is when they unsolder again ....... JB (19 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)
