I have done some GPS app development using a Bluetooth GPS (Pharos) and a PDA.
As mentioned earlier, you can simply parse the Lat/Long or Northing/Easting/Zone
from a standard NMEA string to determine location. So,
it could be possible to use NXT and have it navigate using GPS and or determine
its position this way. The possibilities are endless. As for accuracy, I have
been able to get sub-meter accuracy sometimes with my GPS.
The trick here will be to wait for someone to open the NXT and enhance the
programming environment to talk to Bluetooth... I doubt that Lego has done this
on the software that they will be providing with it. Hopefully, NQC / BricxCC or
one of the others will open this door. Either way, looking fwd to investigating
this...

Brian, I have a bluetooth-enabled GPS unit that I can "borrow" from work if you'd like to see one the next time I see you. It cost us about $140 and is about 6 studs wide (...)
