     Actually, it just needs the firmware which can be downloaded from the mindstorms website: (URL) you are referring to is spirit.ocx which is not needed, but if you want a compatible one, you can download phantom: (URL) (20 years ago, 5-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

   (...) No it is not incorrect. You do have to install the USB tower drivers in order for NQC and BricxCC to use the USB tower to talk to the brick. That is not the case for the Serial tower. You can get the tower drivers (along with the firmware) by (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)
