Hi, all,

This week's Entertainment Weekly (dated 11/6/98, with
Alanis Morissette on the cover) has in its Multimedia
section a brief writeup on Mindstorms.

It's pretty basic stuff, written up in EW's typically
glib fashion.  Also shown is a photo of the card-
dealing 'bot.

A brief excerpt:

For every parent who's ever spent Christmas morning
cursing under his or her breath trying to put
together's Johnny's new toy, Lego has a new
nightmare for you.  [...]  At $200 this is a big
ticket item, but with only 100,000 sets
manufactured for the U.S. holiday market - well,
can you say "Tickle Me Lego"?

I like the "this toy's gonna be hot" angle, but I
don't like much the implied "parents have to build
it 'cause kids are too dumb to" aspect.

At any rate - it's good to see some more mainstream
press for Mindstorms.

-Tim

During the Vikings/Tampa Bay football (America:) last sunday (11/1), there was a Lego Mindstorm ads. Pretty funny, a robot sneaking up on a bathtub, and when the wife sticks her head out, the robot snaps a picture and scurries off. -Lee. (...) (...)
