Then, a new release date was slated for April 2003:

JCX schedule page:
http://jcx.systronix.com/schedule.htm

The dates are presumably for 2003 because on another page they list
"new" schematics for the production JCX on August 14, 2003.  However, at
the bottom, there is a new prototype schematic added on June 2004:

Amazing as it may seem, the schedule page _IS_ actually for 2004.

Of course, as the dates on all as yet incomplete portions are crossed
out with no tentative new estimates for completion, the schedule is
basically worthless.

Apparently, if one really wants a JCX, they need to build their own...

Agreed.  Which is unfortunate... the concept is a good one... a powerful
alternative to the RCX that still retains a focus on lego compatibility.
(and before someone brings it up, the handyboard suffers from a
serious lack of "legoness", IMO).  However, this project has been
delayed far too long and many times for me to hold any more hope for it.
