I am an advisor to a middle school team participating in a robotics
challenge. We are having trouble coming up with a speedier line following
program. Right now we are using the program that pulses the motors every few
hundredths of a second, after looking at the value of the single light
sensor. While this program works well, it is to slow to complete the
distance in a timely manner.
Here are the limitations. Two motors, one RCX,one light sensor, one touch
sensor to reverse program at end of course. Our goal is just to complete the
course in the alloted time, not do the work required mid course.
Any pointers or sample lines of programming would be appreciated. I think I
have exhausted most of the links I have found on the net.
Thanks

| Leroy, if you go to my website, (URL) and navigate to 'The LEGO Lugger' project, you will see a vehicle that could well be used for line-tracking. While I do use an 'extra component', a rotation sensor, I have included the software, in Robolab, with (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.robotics)
