Thanks.
I did try machine head screw but think I had too round a version, because it
seemed like the lego wanted to pop off (though I never did build a complete
one with the machine screws). I think you are right though, a little rounded
would make more sense (maybe skip the filing).
If you have any ideas for mounting the screws let me know. I was originally
thinking I'd just cut off the lego tab and screw the screw in nice and
straight, but then I thought I can't solder inside the brick so went with the
drilling out method so I could solder first.
