One good suggestion from our travel office at work is to carry a pre-filled out FedEx
envelope with you through check in and security. Then, if there is anything they won't
let you take on board, you can pop it into the envelope and drop it off at the airport
FedEx drop. A friend of mine had to do that with a rather nice Swiss Army pocket knife
that he'd forgotten to take out of his pocket (idiot!) - so this is certainly a good
idea for all travellers and it costs you nothing unless you need it.
