CyberMaster is one of LEGO's two current microcontroller based bricks, the
other one is the Mindstorms RCX.
CM is currently only being sold in Europe, South Africa and Australia. It
is based on the same microcontroller, the Hitachi H8/300. The RCX uses IR
for communication, the CM uses RF (radio) for data transmission. Both are
programmable (in many ways), but the RCX has more capabilities, since you
can control the hardware in a more direct manner, and it has alot of more
RAM. It has somewhat different input and output capabilities (motors,
active/passive sensors etc).
