| | I have a notebook mitsubishi, Amity CN wich has a USB port and an IR port. Does anybody know how can I use it to program RCX. Windows doesn't recognize the USB port and I don't know if installing the Lego software would. I could probably use the IR (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

It seems unlikely that Mitsubishi would build a PC with a USB port that Windoze can't recognise - so it's probably just some ugly Windoze installation problem. (...) | | | | Jonathon, Here are my "short" answers: 1) Reload your laptop fresh with Windows 98 to solve USB (and other) issues. 2) It is apparently possible to use the IrDA port to control 38~40KHz IR devices (RCX, Scout, TV, VCR, DVD). 3) The darkness issue (...) | | | | I've found a paper on the notebook case that says 'Amity CN 2 was designed for win 95. If you wish to upgrade to Win 98 you must disable the USB. If you expect you will be using your USB Mitsubishi will upgrade the hardware to activate the USB (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)
