The pictures at

are the first we have seen, I believe, of the finished articles. One shot
shows a good view of the IR control box with what looks like 5 buttons (L,
R, Fwd, Back,. plus a trigger?) and a speed control.

Seems to be the same internals as this one and I think the red button
is a on-off switch:

(why reinvent the wheel)

The gear seems to appear in gray also:

Looks like they might be quite interesting...

Personally I lend more and more to bying "none-Technic" sets like Star
Wars for pieces. Yes, I am fortunate enough to already own a lot of
classic Technic pieces but still!? Is a two (maybe, but not likely,
three) channel RC and a new gear all we gear-heads can hope for? All
the town, castle and space folks get a lot of new cool toys and we get
Galidor and more Bionicle SPUDs.

*bangs my head against the wall for being in the dark ages between
1992 and 2000, the Technic golden era seemed to draw it's last healty
breath in 1997 with the 8480 Space shuttle and the likes*

Sighs and goes back to hunting old and used second hand sets...
