Hi,

1). If the firmware file is located in a WinZip archive, you can just use the
"unzip" command under Linux. You can also mount a Windows CD-Rom in Linux and
look browse it like a normal filesystem.

2). NO, unfortunately (or fortunately dependng on your outlook) "exe" files
are Windows specific. I am however unsure why you want to use the SDK under
Linux. If you have NQC (the compiler), a Text Editor (your code writer), the
firmware, and your IR Tower plugged in, there is no need for the SDK.

Yesterday I tried to locate the firmware from the CD-ROM that comes with

Can I extract the firmware from the CD-ROM under Linux or do I have to use
windows?

The same goes for the SDK2, which is a windows .exe file.
Can I expand it under Linux?

Any help in this matter is appreciated!

(...) That depends. If the .exe file is actually a self-extracting ZIP file, then "unzip" should be able to handle it, even on Linux. --Bill. (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)
