I've been playing with the Cadmium Sulfide photoresistors that Radio Shack
sells and they make pretty good RCX Light sensors.  CdS is more sensitive to
the visible spectrum than the silicon photodetector in the LEGO Light
sensor.  I think it can also read lower light levels than the LEGO sensor
because it doesn't have the LED spill over problem.  Anyway I put more
information about this on my sensors site at:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Michael_Gasperi/lego.htm .  Just go
to the TOC entry Home Brew Sensors.

I've just started building an analogue type sensor using 2 (...) (26 years ago, 21-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
