  Re: NQC for Palm

<snip> it's too bad that all of you just HAVE to use a palm OS device. someone a long time ago ported nqc to windowsce and it works fine, i'm able to do on the fly programming and uploading with a first generation device, which i'm actually unhappy (...)   Re: Lubricating technic turntables

<snip> from using different types of yoyos and other things i have found that the best for inert lubricating is silicon lubricant, there are also some other lubes for nylon that i can't think of but i do know that they are out there. some vcr repair (...)   Re: How about ideas for new elements?

I would like to try using threaded nylon rods. Where can you buy them? I've only used steel threaded rods to restrain large axial forces (e.g. in a crane turntable). I've also used smooth 3/16" bar stock when I needed a very stiff and strong axle (I (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Scout Commands

(...) If you use NQC then you can write a small program and load it into the Scout...then it behaves much like the RCX. The Scout has VERY little free memory - but it's enough to allow it to act as a dumb peripheral, turning motors on and off and (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How about ideas for new elements?

I applaud 100%! Great work! I like to think that if the Lego designers can have new bits for new models, so can we!!!! I appear to have duplicated just about everthing you've been doing :) As far as the threaded rod business goes; I've been buying (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: List software?

Doesn't "Reply to Group" only work with New Groups (NNTP), not e-mail lists? And don't ALL e-mail clients have a 'Reply To All' function? Can't you just do that and erase the recipient you don't want (in this case, the sender)? -- V (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Scout Commands

When you communicate between RCX's you set a number and then use the other end as a sensor to do a certain procedure. Does anybody know what happens when you send those messages to a scout. I know 1 is 'seek dark', 2 is 'seek light and 3 is 'do the (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NQC for Palm

(...) i thought of doing something like it, but don't really have the time. (...) i'd use it instead of my computer! (...) i've got very little experience in writing for the PalmOS, but i found it quite easy, specially for this kind of program. i've (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Lubricating technic turntables

How about a water-based lubricant instead of petroleum-based? If it's safe for latex...why not ABS? :) Use it sparingly and only as a last resort. Personally, I doubt I would use graphite. Graphite would be a little too messy for me. -Troy (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
