This is very true! I had all sorts of fun "improving" the four legged
walking mechanism
on the Darkside Developer thing. The way the instructions defined it, it
was much
too wobbly! With a little care redoing the key leg joints, it work a lot
better.
Of course, I am in a seemingly eternal battle to build a two leg walker,
not humanoid
but more duck like - opposite knee function and short legs without such
huge feet
that it balances no matter what. But RCX controlled weight transfer
balancing is a lot
harder than it sounds. But you do learn a lot, and thus, my growing
repertoire of
leg joint tricks was applied to the darkside model quite easily.
