  Oops! Darn diode/fuse

So while trying to modify my brick to accept 9v from an AC adapter, I managed to blow the SMT diode/fuse. Anyone know the rating (or part #) of the fuse/diode so I can replace it? While I'm at it, anyone know what voltage/mA the RCX can take as (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Rope Climbing and Can Crushing at BrickBots.Com

(...) I'd better submit my model (which is one 2x1 plate and nothing else) it scores 2 points...and may yet win if nobody succeeds in crushing a can and everyone needs more than an RIS set to attempt it! (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: A dream Mindstorms/Technic piece...

(...) Indeed :-) Perhaps you missed the post I made earlier in this thread (I think it was only on lugnet.technic at that point) where I posted the URL for my compressor device using this battery box? Here it is anyway: (URL) amusement park ride (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Block & Tackle Mechanisms

I have added a "Block & Tackle" based LEGO device to my site at (URL) Check it out. Block & Tackle is a formal mechanism, as much as a wedge or lever or gear. It has some amazing benefits. But it's hard to work it into a design and some of its (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Rope Climbing and Can Crushing at BrickBots.Com

Doesn't a machine that does nothing score perfectly? If so, my entry is an RCX sitting next to three cans. It finishes the instant it starts. You have a formula time * height * bonus = score, with small being better. So a robot that does no crushing (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: A dream Mindstorms/Technic piece...

The Mindstorms touch sensor isn't a switch, but a sensor. You need an RCX or MicroScout to read it's status. It is not suited for directly switching a load like a motor. It can only carry a very small current, and still has a lot of resistance when (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Rope Climbing and Can Crushing at BrickBots.Com

Hello All, On Friday February 9th, 2001 the Rope Climbing Contest at BrickBots.Com finished with three completed entries and one standout winner! The contest objective was to build a LEGO robot to go up and down a length of rope as quickly as (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: OmniRemote Update part II (brief)

(...) Unfortunately, I have no RCX as of yet - been too busy buying car parts. however, I don't think he's worried about firmware right now, and more worried about just sending basic messages back and forth. Firmware comes later, and I suspect it (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
