Re: can i use macromedia flash or director with lego ?

I have been able to do some basic experiments in controlling the RCX from Director 7. I used a trial version of the DirectComm Xtra from DirectXtras which allows Director to access the serial port. Try there web page at (URL) trial version runs only (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: LEGO says adults 25-45 account for half of MindStorms sales!

(...) Indeed. I have purchased, directly, for me and me alone, well in excess of 600 Lego products, only 1 of which is a Mindstorms kit. I can say with a fair degree of certainty that I'm not the biggest spender out there, or even in the top 10. I (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: MOC: Brick mixer

You're right... But there are quite a few practical issues to address, specially the exact position of bricks on the "Turing strip" to be able to pick them... That strip should also be much longer for any "practical" use (and I'm running short of (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Status of RIS 2.0??

What is the status of version 2.0? It has gotten impossible to find older sets. Fry's has a couple that have been opened and are missing software (and possibly parts), but they will only drop the price to $179. What a rip-off! (25 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: MOC: Brick mixer

This is so close to being a Turing machine. If it could pick and place from its own card stack, you'd have a really cool general-purpose computer system! (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Sensors

Robert, You've just described the Scout (in the Robotics Discovery Set) perfectly! Sensors 1 & 3 can only handle touch sensors (or light sensors if you don't need the reading to be totally accurate), and Sensor 2 is a fixed light sensor. Your RCX (...)
