There's lots of stuff in the Pitsco product line for energy-related training
for schools.  Check out:  http://www.pldstore.com/pitsco2/catalog.cfm.  I
wonder too if anyone uses it for robotics power sources.  I also wonder if
it's any good as a light sensor.

I got the new Pitsco 2001 catalog in the mail today, and noticed that
there's a LEGO solar panel available. Is this a new product? I was under
the impression that LEGO didn't make a solar panel. Anybody know what
its mA output (in direct sunlight) is? I also noticed a LEGO capacitor.
What sort of implimentations would a capacitor have?

(...) I tried to use Solar panels for power the RCX. No go. It needs a lot of amps to power it and solar is not big on amps... As a light sensor it's incredible fast. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (24 years ago, 28-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
