  Cunning idea

For anyone annoyed by the lack of motor outputs on the RCX who has some electronic engineering experience, a device can be built using a 4017B decade counter, some relays and a few other parts that will give a total of 1 original motor connection (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Message transmission speeds.

(...) That sounds believable. I send 6 one-byte messages in each comms cycle. That's gotta be a good 150ms - which is probably about what I'm seeing. How depressing. :-( (...) So, the first major speedup would be to send a 3-byte message containing (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Error in grabber arm instructions?

I just recently built the grabber arm with my new RIS 1.5 set, and I didnt have any problems with not having enough pieces. If i get time later ill see how many 6-length bars my set has, but I had plenty to build the grabber arm as far as i can (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: how long can i keep the rcx on

(...) I have recently used my RCX with a Train Transformer and ran it for 10 days. No worries. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Error in grabber arm instructions?

I too Had this problem. I had 8 w/ a length of six. I had to substitute these parts. I wonder why?? I have the 1.5 RCX also. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Error in grabber arm instructions?

I've got an RIS 1.5 set, and I'm building the grabber arm from the instructions on the Lego website. The instructions call for a total of 10 beams of length 6 (is there a standard terminology for these things?), and my set only has 8. I'm (...) (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

patel <lego-robotics@crynwr.com> wrote in message news:003301c073b1$63...default... Dear Group Can i keep it on for many hours?? There is an automatic time out that you need to set to 0. After that it should run forever on AC. (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Motor Drivers

Hi, Currently I'm using an L298 to drive a couple of DC motors. Unfortunately the only way I can intorduce any sort of speed control is to PWM the enable line since PWM'ing the inputs for speed control does not work. Does anyone else know of any (...) (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Message transmission speeds.

In the RCX and the tower, the IR receiver is located close to the transmitter. When the transmitter is running, the adjacent receiver's Automatic Gain Control cirucit (AGC) becomes saturated, and sets the receiver sensitivity to it's lowest possible (...)
