(...) I might just add that while this was a bit over my head it work extremely well and the sensor itself was very small and unobtrusive. It was a non-LEGO solution but I loved it and recommend it. I think with some reworking it may even be (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

(...) I used a touch sensor that slightly elevated the track, detecting the mass of train cars; it was coupled to a scout in a switch-house, and the thing would just toggle a point whenever a train went by. 100% reliable, but ... kinda ugly, and (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The BEST kit to get to really get a good selection of parts is another RIS kit. ;-) The other kits that I picked up are long gone and I haven't seen anything lately that I feel would really aide. If you can get the robo sports kit on sale it (...) (25 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

As has already been reported by others, I built an automated railroad crossing for the NELUG train display at last weekend's Greenberg show.
