I suspect that their idea of bulk and ours is very different.

They need to grab some mimimum $$$ per purchase to even make
it worthwhile answering the phone. I suspect that figure is in the area
of $20. So selling individual pieces between $1 - $4 just doesn't do it.
There are obviously people who order multiple items at a time, but
calling up for one airtank isn't going to keep the spare parts end of
the business in business!

The classic answer is to have intermediaries who buy "in bulk"
who can survive in business selling ones and twos of things. You see
them on ebay and you know how much parts cost that way! The real
key to being successful in the parts business is knowing what kinds
of parts are commonly called for. And that requires experience at
using the parts!

"We" collectively have that experience!

I wonder if lugnet, albeit somewhat of an amorphous entity at the
moment, could ultimately have enough mass to be able to sit down
and plan such a business with tlg? Time will tell, but I do hope so ...

ps: tlg must know what the good parts are too. They always find a way
to dilute them with the less useful ones in every set and service pack
the sell! And I can't see the plastic injection molding robots the use
can tell the difference! So why are the "so special"?
