Hello,

I was wondering.What is Znap? I've heard the term used repeatedly on lugnet
groups. Is Znap Lego? Is Znap a Lego lookalike?

-==Sergio==--

Znap is a new construction toy which has some residual compatibility with Lego
Technic.

Well, that was what I thought at first.

Now, some months later, I would revise that statement to read;

Znap is a new construction toy which is a vital addition to Lego Technic.

I have now built Mindstorms powered robotic devices which would simply fall
apart
or be so hugely complex and heavy with all the necessary reinforcing if built
from purely Technic parts. As it is, I have four motor drive, two motor
steering
robot platforms built very simply using Znap parts as the framework in which
Technic "modules" are installed to perform the various mechanical and
electrical
functions. All in all, a very important step from Lego, IMHO.

JB

(Note: This message appeared on the lugnet znap list, but I have taken the
liberty
of addressing the answer to the lego robotics audience too.)

(...) Interesting. Do you have any pictures of these? (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics)
