I downloaded the instructions for building a grabber arm from the Mindstorms WWW site (I gather this is the grabber arm depicted on the 1.5 box). However, I found that the arm wasn't very good at actually picking things up. Although I didn't have (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I've built the grabber on, although not using the current step-by-step instructions. My son Isaac was enamored with the photo on the RIS box, and begged for months for me to build it. I'd started a couple of times, and found recreating the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Dave Baum book has a arm that may fit better to your needs. Basically it use 3 motors. One motor controls the torso. The second moves arms up and down. The third open closes the arm. You can look at Lego site also and look for user projects. There (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I have added a solar roller that uses Lego solar panels, a line follower and a large walker to MarsRobot. The Lego solar panel *barely* provides enough power to move a robot, but with proper gearing you can get some pretty good motion. I will (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Dear all, It's not Lego-related but: When clicking on the 'read more' link on the Lego site nothing happens apart from some Javascript appearing at the bottom of the browser. I'm not sure if it's my browser (IE5) or the site. Has anyone else had (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics)
