Very good news, everyone: I have managed to write a
Virtual Machine that can run Java inside the RCX.
I call it TinyVM. Currently you'll probably need Linux
to try it out, but it should be easy to port. I'm hoping that
many of you will contribute to this project in various
ways. The first version I'm releasing is extremely beta.
Specifically, TinyVM's firmware usability is not the
greatest. But if you'd really like to try it out, download
this file:
http://www.geocities.com/jhsolorz/TinyVM-01beta1.zip
The README file in there explains certain aspects of
this technology. If anyone could set up some web space
for the javadoc-generated API pages, that would be great.
Suggestions and contributions are very much encouraged.
Enjoy!

| Excellent! I've been waiting for this for a long time. BTW, Yahoo is having some sort of problem displaying the file. I can't click on the link in the message, but I can cut and paste the URL into IE and get the file that way. -gyug (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics)
