Not that I know of. I've never cut the conductors in a 9V box, but it isn't
that hard to cut the ones in electric plates with an xacto knife.

I'd use 4/40 brass screws. Totally remove the LEGO pin and drill a hole to
the right diameter for the screw. Then you could connect a small ring lug
and nut on the bottom.
