The solenoid valves look like a dream come true. I would
like to get 6-8
of them if they can really work with the RCX.
Any information on their pneumatic and electrical
(voltage/current)
characteristics?
Hi CS!
Well the valves definitely work on Legos. I hooked them up to a Lego battery
box and heard them (open and) close. One could of course do this with
alligator clippers but I just cut a Lego cable in half and attached to the
wires on the valve. In the next couple of days I will put together a model
using the RCX. I still need to get the small pumps to make a decent Lego
compressor but in the meantime I will use the fischertechnik one.
No information was given on their pneumatic characteristics but if you could
give me some ideas I will try and measure it for you. It would make a good
tutorial. The valves are rated at 12 volts (an attached sticker) but 9 volts
and less operate them (the nicads in the battery box were closer to 7.8).
Best,
Michael
