Re: question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

(...) Hi George, NXT will do this fine, however you might want to try two light sensors (1 more than in the Retail Kit) Otherwise you might not be able to tell going off line and a break in the line! The NXTG language would be fine for this task and (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AW: Assembly line feeding system

(...) Hello Jordan, Thanks a lot for the tip! This is an amazinly simple and effective way to serialize a ball flow. According to my experiments, there is a little thing to add to your explanations: the narrow ramp level must be sufficiently lower (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Bluetooth quirks

I've just re-read Sivan Toledo's "Analysis of the NXT Bluetooth Communication Protocol" tacked on the main lugnet.robotics.nxt main page. I am currently in a PC lab (Portland State Univ NH 439) with 9 bright kids. We have about 24 NXT kits at our (...) (16 years ago, 2-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: AW: Assembly line feeding system

GBC module creators tend to independently reinvent the same hopper solutions used in factories. Some of them shake, many of them have an agitator spinning inside it to loosen the pieces, but the simplest just use gravity and a change of direction. (...)   AW: Assembly line feeding system

Maybe a look into actual GBC designs and their approaches to transportation might prove useful (?). (Ok, it's for LEGO balls instead of plates) (URL) Nachricht----- Von: news-gateway@lugnet.com [mailto:news-gateway...ugnet.com] Im Auftrag von John (...)   Re: question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

George, I think the NXT would be an excellent way to get your son involved in robotics. And, it should do just fine in that competition. That's pretty much what it was designed for. Don't worry about a lack of experience with Mindstorms. I'm sure (...) (16 years ago, 30-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Problem to send long messages from RCX to PC via com Hack

(...) Dear Matthew I have found the problem. It was in kernel\lnp-locical.c -> cheking the echo was the problem solution: echo OFF it is a rough solution, but it works changes 1) rx_handler(void) ... // echos of own bytes -> collision detection // (...) I don't know if this is would be of any help, as it uses a different approach, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway.... Bi-directional Bluetooth to IR translator - (URL) (PDF format: (URL) ) While this solution doesn't allow both the serial and IR (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Assembly line feeding system

What I'm trying to do is inspired by the feeding mechanism of (URL) trying to feed 1x1 plates into an assembly line. I've built several hoppers to hold a few hundred pieces each. I've got a chute design so that the pieces slide down without room to (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics)

question on mindstorm capabilities for competition

Hi all, Every year on our campus we have a robotics competition called the Mobot race, where home built robots attempt to steer through a course by following a painted white line. This white line curves and breaks at some points depending on the (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics)
