Re: Ping mode for US Sensor in NXT-G

(...) You are using firmware version 1.04, right? 1.03 doesn't work well for multibyte reads. JB (19 years ago, 4-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Ping mode for US Sensor in NXT-G

Hi Guy, You inspired me to do a ping using NBC, but I have run into trouble. I get a -35 (ERR_COMM_BUS_ERR) when I try to read more than one object reading. The code is long, so I'll just put the basics of what I am doing here to see if anyone (...) (19 years ago, 4-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Robo Quad - Stage One

Hi Eric, this is a really interesting project. I'll promise to follow your progress, even though I can't join. This project will push Mecha building to a new stage! Best wishes (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 4-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  LEGO NXT Cable Mod

Hi All, If you haven't purchased the LEGO NXT adapter cable for legacy sensors or outside real world circuit interfacing, then read my latest blog entry (URL). I illustrate a "no" cost way to modifying an existing NXT cable suitable for homebrew (...) (19 years ago, 4-Mar-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: BrickFest™ 2007 - NXT-only Sumo competition

(...) I wish I could...but, right now I am commuting 110 miles for work to a new job and the week of PDX I will be at a convention in Las Vegas... so life is pretty crazy ...but, you never know, maybe a midwest robot design will show up in the (...)   Re: BrickFest™ 2007 - NXT-only Sumo competition

(...) Thanks for the suggestion, but this was carefully considered before the rules were drafted. If someone has an RCX and wants to enter a robot competition, they are very welcome to enter the Robotic Easter Egg Hunt (URL). While I'm sure that an (...)   Re: Power Functions Element Pics (inc Plugs)

(...) All the pics should be visible now, at (URL) large motors have 2 half-depth pin recesses on opposite sides. They are designed primarily for a Technic beam interface because of their high torque - other models might fall apart! I held them in (...)   Re: BrickFest™ 2007 - NXT-only Sumo competition

(...) Dave, We just had a sumo contest last weekend in Fort Wayne - the Northeast Indiana Robot Games. The stock class that used to allow parts from only 1 RCX based Mindstorm kit was changed to allow the NXT to compete against the RCX. NXT based (...)   RE: Robolab RCX Control Pad

Your best bet is to post this request on the CEEO web site. Someone there will surely answer. AFAIK, it's intended to be supported in all environments. (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Power Functions Element Pics (inc Plugs)

(...) Man, I'm excited. A few design flaws I can't understand though: Why the cable nub coming out of the cable's brick? There has to have been a way to avoid that. On the large motor, why all that wasted space on the drkGry part that could have pin (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Ping mode for US Sensor in NXT-G

I've written a detailed toturial on working in ping mode in NXT-G using I2C read/I2C write block and the US Sensor block. Read it here: (URL) shows how you can set the sensor to ping mode, read and display all 8 measurements and alternatly ping two (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Robolab RCX Control Pad

Does anyone know what versions of Robolab support the RCX Control Pad? I have tried it with RoboLab 2.5, 2.54B & C, and 2.9. In all cases Robolab hangs or I get VI execution errors. I want to use this for an outreach project where school chirdren (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Power Functions Element Pics (inc Plugs)

(...) Thank you! I like the small(er) size of the motors; do the large motors also have a stud recesses down one side? It actually looks in both bases as if the pin connections are fairly well placed. I'm not overjoyed with the "hard-wired" nature (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: The rarest colour in LEGO - grey on a NXT?

  Performance chart for lithium rechargeables

What can one expect out of the lithium rechargeables? One of my friends, an FLL coach, is reporting that their rechargeables seem to have "memory". Are there technical specs for the rechargeables? (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Power Functions Element Pics (inc Plugs)

(...) Hmm, I will add my voice in saying thanks for the pics. Definitely interesting. I agree that I would prefer to have connector terminals on active bricks, and not permanently attached cables. What also I find awkward is that we now have (...) (19 years ago, 28-Feb-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
