Hi Robolab 2.5 advanced users, Have a look at (URL) where I posted a simple multi-robot communication-system developped on the base of LEGO standard firmware 2.0. Imagine you have several RCXs (RCX-1 .. RCX-n) active in a project. It is now possible (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

 | | Re: NQC "No reply from RCX" Help Please

(...) My first guess on this problem is that the firmware is no longer loaded on the RCX. Check the LCD display - if it doesn't show 5 digits (e.g. "00.00 1") then the firmware isn't installed. If you can locate the firmware file (typically called (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

 | | new patch to modify LNP ID with util/dll
|
|
I've posted a patch at sourceforge which allows you to modify the RCX's LNP id using the util/dll program. This should make life easier for those of us using multiple RCXs and LNP. This patch applies to the current CVS head, post 0.2.6, though it (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) Well, I'm having a similar problem, but in my case, NQC and bricxcc just don't even ever see the brick. I have firmware installed, and the Lego RIS 2.0 software works and communicates perfectly with the brick (little green light on the USB (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hey John, are you thinking of recording any of these sessions to maybe put a transcript up on the BrickFest site (or wherever)? That'd be *really* cool for those of us who can't get there... ROSCO (23 years ago, 20-May-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

(...) Hum...so then how do I get Visual NQC to work? I installed RIS 2.0 on my computer, and try to use Visual NQC and it errors out with a "Component 'SPIRIT.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" Is (...) Thanks very much for the information, but I don't have the Microscout in front of me and won't be able to get my hands on it for a while. I'll probably have RIS 2.0 before I get to my Microscout. When I do get it, I'll give it a shot. Again, thanks (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

 | | Re: Powering motors from the mains

(...) The main problem comes from the heat generated. This isn't a problem, unless you're driving motors fairly constantly with your RCX, but can eventually cause the diodes to break down. Of course, when one half of the rectifier goes, you can (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
