(...) No, they didn't, that was just a rumour. You can power an 1.5 or 2.0 RCX by connecting a _regulated_ 9V DC supply to the battery connectors (with the correct polarity of course). To power 3 stalled motors I think you need around 1A (not quite (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Don't cut anything. In this exact same situation, I use a pair of medium pulley-wheels, mated together with half-pins through the six outer holes (3 in one direction, 3 in the other). (...) Purist approach is to use a 9V train speed reg and LEGO(r) wires from the speed reg to your motor(s), possibly through the polarity reverser switch to give control. I find batteries a pain, especially as there output isn't constant over their lifetime, therefore I'd love to be able to power my motors from the mains. (...) is (...) Not really.. braking using the current generated by the motor (acting as a generator) once the power is removed from it. H-Bridge has what is called a break bit. Hmm... Well, you could try www.mindstorms.com (or whatever it is) and look fo the configuration. I remember looking around that side and seeing some diagrams and shematics.
